How Optimisely Works
A read-only analysis of your warehouse that finds unused Fivetran tables, calculates the wasted MAR spend, and shows you what to disable. Under 5 minutes from connection to insight.
Connect your warehouse
You authorise Optimisely with a read-only service account in BigQuery or Snowflake. We never get access to your table contents - only INFORMATION_SCHEMA and audit logs. No data leaves your warehouse.
We query your audit logs
Optimisely reads your query history over the last 60 days and builds a map of which tables have been touched, by whom, and how often. We cross-reference this with your Fivetran-managed tables (identified by schema prefix and metadata).
We calculate the MAR waste
For each unused or underused table, we look at how many Monthly Active Rows it has generated over the last 30 days and calculate the approximate Fivetran cost. The result is a ranked list of tables by wasted spend.
You decide what to disable
You review the list and decide which tables to disable. Optimisely can disable Fivetran connectors directly via the API if you connect your Fivetran account, or you can use the list as a playbook for your admin.
What Optimisely does not do
- -We do not query the contents of your tables. Only schema and audit logs.
- -We do not store your warehouse credentials long-term. They are used for the analysis and then purged on request.
- -We do not make any changes to your warehouse. Read-only means read-only.
- -We do not touch your Fivetran setup without your explicit approval.
